Stoner Boat Launch and a portion of the Red River will be closed to the general public for the 2016 Grand Prix of Louisiana – Outboard Performance Craft U.S. Powerboat Nationals.
The boat launch will be closed from Wednesday, August 31 through Monday, September 5. People can alternatively launch from Arthur Teague or the Red River South Marina.
The Red River from the Horseshoe Casino and North to 12 Mile Bayou will be off limits from Friday through Monday for the event. Spectator boats will need to set up North of the 12 Mile Bayou marker for the race and South of Horseshoe Casino out of the way of the racing teams as they head up to the Start/Finish line.
Registration and testing kicks off on Friday, September 2, with racing scheduled for all day Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day. Race teams will set up their pits in and launch from the Stoner Avenue boat launch.
